1DO NOT BUY A TC5 TREADCLIMBER - YOU'LL BE SORRY
By kaibabsquirrel
We have been long time Nautilus buyers...all the way back to their air bed, two (2) Bowflex machines & one TC5000 Treadclimber, and were very happy with all of them.

Then, we bought a TC5...worst piece of equipment EVER! Very difficult to put together, extremely hard to workout on, hard on joints & legs, getting to 'pace' is nearly impossible and the treads keep moving to the sides and fraying. We called customer service & they told us that we would get used to the 'pace' (not in this lifetime) and we were also told that the treads moving were due to us being 'right footed' (what a ridiculous excuse)!

Do not waste your money on this machine; you'll just end up returning it (at a cost of nearly $300)!

4A Good Work Out
By Joan Bond
I purchased the TC5 last December. I purchased it because I needed something for when it snowed and the road was too icy to walk. I think the packaging on this product was terrible. Several parts were broken, and assembly was difficult and time consuming, but every time I called customer service they were helpful and sent me new parts right away. I also experienced fraying on the treads in the first use, and I was sent new ones. The care directions for adjusting the treads and the rest of the machine are in the booklets that came with the products.

Unless you are in really good cardiovascular shape you will most likely find the TC5 difficult to use at first. When I started using the TC5 I started at 10 minutes each session, 3 times a week for a couple of weeks then adding 5 minute increments until I could use it for 30 minutes a session. Another reviewer complained that it was a difficult work out, all I can say is that's why they call it a work out. It is hard, but all good work outs are hard until you build stamina. I am 59 years old I have been lifting weights for 19 years and I was a runner for 17 years. I live at high altitude now, which is why I can no longer run, but with the TC5 I am able to get a better cardio work out than I do just from walking. I prefer being outdoors for exercise, but the TC5 fills the exercise gaps when it is icy or below 20 degrees. I would recommend this product if you really like exercising and want to get your heart rate up quickly, however if you just think you like to exercise or are just beginning an exercise program and you aren't fully committed, I don't think this product is for you. You would be better off with a tread mill or just going outside for a walk, because the assembly of this product and the patience of building up to a 30 minute work out won't be worth it.

2Doesn't Live Up To Description
By Fredricka M Stewart
I bought the Bowflex TreadClimber TC5 for my son as a birthday gift. Though it was delivered in a reasonable amount of time, the packaging was partially open and it was left on their porch. It is extremely heavy and my son and his wife could not get it upstairs to their bedroom where they wanted to put it together so they had to settle for putting it in the garage. It was very difficult to assemble, instructions were less than ideal, and once assembled it did not work in a safe menner. It was very difficult to get the necessary pace and once you did, it shot you off of the back. It was very hard on their joints and was pretty dangerous. They asked for it to be returned and though I got a refund of the purchase price, another $200+ in shipping was at our expense. We are very unhappy and would not recommend this to anyone.
